Identity is becoming the perimeter
FICTIONAL DEMONSTRATION CONTENT. Replace with verified evidence and approved content before publishing.
A modern access path may pass through an identity provider, a browser session, a SaaS application, and a delegated cloud role. Looking at an account name alone rarely reveals the complete path or its potential impact.
Start by mapping the identity, its authentication methods, and the sessions and tokens associated with it. Record when each credential was issued, which scopes it carries, and which systems it can reach. Treat missing evidence as unknown rather than assuming that an access path is safe.
Then identify privilege transitions. A session that begins with limited permissions may later reach a sensitive workload through an inherited role or a delegated application grant. Show these transitions as a connected path, with evidence attached to every edge.
Containment should match the scope of the risk. Consider session revocation, token rotation, access review, or temporary restrictions only after checking dependencies and approval requirements. Design rollback and recovery steps before disruptive action.
This fictional threat brief demonstrates a method for organizing identity evidence. It does not describe a verified incident or assert a measured improvement.
